Oak Island Beach Day
Sitting just roughly 30 minutes outside of Holden Beach, this red, white, and blue-themed event celebrates the creation of the Town of Oak Island following the merging of Yaupon Beach and Long Beach. This annual event also features a host of family-friendly activities and games, including volleyball, a sandcastle contest, cornhole, and karaoke! You’ll also be able to enjoy live music just before sunset, when the fireworks show begins!

North Carolina 4th of July Festival
While this event is a bit farther from Holden Beach, in the town of Southport, this spectacular celebration has been running since 1972 and serves as the epicenter of Fourth of July festivities in the state. Each year, the event attracts 40,000 to 50,000 attendees for a celebration featuring an arts and crafts show, concessions, a massive parade with over 120 units, and a scholarship pageant. Seeing as this is one of the biggest A250 celebrations in the whole state, this event is sure to be worth the drive!
